Traditionally, we route public VLANs in a mesh.

Is it really required?

It might not be required in some cases:

  • if one physical interface can be dedicated as public
  • if the management interface can double as public interface (on default/other vlan)

However, if the public IP addresses are to be considered mobile across the cluster, then the mesh is required.
